Privacy
This explains what TensorPrep stores about you, why, and who else sees it. It is written from what the software actually does.
What we store
- Your account: email address, a bcrypt hash of your password (never the password itself), whether your email is verified, and a username if you claim one. If you sign in with Google we also store Google's account identifier.
- Your work: the code you submit, whether each submission passed, and the current draft for each problem so it is there when you come back.
- Your subscription: the plan, currency, status and renewal date, plus the payment provider's subscription id. We never see or store your card details.
What we do not collect
There is no IP logging, no device fingerprinting and no location tracking in this application. Nothing reads a geo header, and there is no IP column in the database.
Analytics, and your choice
We use PostHog to understand which parts of the site people actually use. Nothing is loaded, initialised or stored until you agree: decline the cookie banner and the analytics library is never fetched at all. You can change your mind at any time from your account page, and withdrawing consent removes the tracking cookie rather than leaving it in place.
If you do consent and you are signed in, your email is attached to your analytics profile so that a support question can be matched to what actually happened.
Who else sees your data
- Dodo Payments, merchant of record, to take payment and handle tax.
- Resend, to deliver verification and account emails.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- PostHog, only if you consent to analytics.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.
Cookies
A session cookie keeps you signed in. It is HTTP-only, so page scripts cannot read it. One small entry in your browser's local storage remembers your analytics choice, because remembering that you said no must not itself require consent. Analytics cookies are set only after you agree.
How long we keep it
Your account and submissions are kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete your account and we remove it along with your submissions, saved drafts and notifications.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to hello@tensorprep.dev and we will action it.
